Privacy Notice

Last updated: 22 August 2026

Built By Barlow is operated by Scott Barlow. For privacy questions or requests, contact builtbybarlow@gmail.com.

What information I collect

When you submit a coaching application, I may collect your name, email address, mobile number, coaching goals, information you choose to provide about what you want to change, how long you have been struggling, why the change matters to you, what has held you back, your readiness to start, and whether you are in a position to invest in coaching. The site may also record basic referral information such as the page you arrived from and campaign tracking parameters.

Why I use it

I use this information to assess your coaching enquiry, decide whether Built By Barlow appears suitable for you, contact you about the enquiry, arrange a conversation where appropriate, and understand which marketing channels are producing genuine enquiries.

Lawful basis

For coaching enquiries, the main basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a possible coaching arrangement. Where I review basic campaign or referral information, I may rely on legitimate interests in understanding how people find Built By Barlow and improving the business.

Who receives the information

I do not sell your personal information. Hosting and form-processing providers may process information on my behalf where this is necessary to operate the website and receive applications.

How long I keep enquiries

Unsuccessful or inactive coaching enquiries will normally be kept for no longer than 12 months unless there is a good reason to keep them for longer or you ask me to delete them sooner. If you become a client, relevant information may be kept for longer where needed to provide the service or meet legal and business record-keeping requirements.

Advertising measurement and cookies

With your consent, this website uses the OpenAI Ads Pixel to measure whether visits from ChatGPT advertising lead to a coaching application. OpenAI may append an advertising click reference (called oppref) to the website address after an ad click. When measurement is accepted, the Pixel may store that reference in a first-party cookie so a later application can be attributed to the relevant ad.

When a coaching application is successfully submitted, the site sends OpenAI a standard lead_created conversion event. The event is used to measure advertising performance. Optional advertising measurement is not loaded until you choose Accept measurement on the cookie notice, and you can change your choice using the Cookie settings link on the website.

The OpenAI web data source may offer an optional feature called automatic advanced matching. If that feature is enabled in Ads Manager, supported contact information entered into recognisable forms can be normalised and hashed in the browser before being used for conversion matching. Raw customer information is not sent through that feature. Built By Barlow can disable this feature in Ads Manager.

Marketing

Submitting a coaching application does not sign you up to general marketing emails. If I introduce a newsletter or promotional mailing list later, it will use a separate opt-in.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict the use of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. You can make a request using the email address above. You can also raise concerns with the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
